ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore the protective effect of methyl eugenol (Me) on islet ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury and elucidate its underlying mechanism.Methods:The islets were isolated and purified from 6-8 week male BALB/c mice and divided into four groups of normal control (normal culture without any treatment), hypoxia/reoxygenation (H/R treatment), H/R+ dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO dosing plus H/R treatment) and H/R+ Me (Me dosing plus H/R). Viability of islet cells in each group was detected by acridine orange (AO)/propidium iodide (PI) double stain.Function of islet cells (insulin secretion) was measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Murine islet β Min6 cells were selected for detecting the effect of Me on the proliferative activity of normal cultured and H/R treated islet cells under different concentration gradients by CCK8.Then Min6 cells were divided into four groups of normal, H/R, H/R+ DMSO and H/R+ Me.The definition of group was the same as that of primary murine islets.Flow cytometry and Hoechst 33342 nuclear stain were utilized for detecting cell apoptotic rate in each group.The protein expressions of p-JNK, p-p38, JNK, p38, Bcl-2 and Bax were detected by Western blot.And the data were processed by one-way ANOVA or t test.Results:The proportion of dead islet cells in H/R group was (29.47±2.65)% and it was significantly lower than that in normal group (7.63±1.53)%.And the inter-group differences were statistically significant ( P<0.001). The proportion of dead islet cells was (20.63±3.07)% in H/R+ Me group.It was higher than that in H/R group (29.47±2.65)% and in H/R+ DMSO group (30.13±1.50)% and inter-group difference was statistically significant ( P<0.05 & P<0.01). Under the stimulation of high glucose, the insulin secretion level of islet in H/R+ Me group was (1.76+ 0.08) mg/L, which was higher than that in H/R group and H/R+ DMSD group(1.24±0.14)mg/L and(1.27±0.05)mg/L, and the difference was statistically significant[(1.76±0.08) vs. (1.24±0.14) mg/L; (1.76±0.08) vs.(1.27±0.05) mg/L, P<0.01]. There was no significant effect on cell viability after Me dosing within a certain concentration range (0-40 μmol/L). After Me dosing (5 μmol/L), cell viability of H/R-treated Min6 cells was significantly higher than that without Me.And the difference was statistically significant[(1.19±0.03) vs.(1.00±0), P<0.01]. As compared with H/R and H/R+ DMSO groups, overall apoptotic rate declined in H/R+ Me group (Hoechst 33342 stain: 14.50%±1.05% vs. 23.30%±1.18%, 14.50%±1.05% vs. 22.77%±1.75%, P<0.001; Flow cytometry: 4.36%±0.54% vs. 21.44%±1.02%, 4.36%±0.54% vs. 21.68%±3.06%, P<0.01). The expressions of p-JNK and p-p38 were down-regulated (p-JNK: 0.77±0.06 vs. 1.03±0.05, 0.77±0.06 vs.0.93±0.04, P<0.001; p-p38: 0.80±0.05 vs. 1.01±0.08; 0.80±0.05 vs. 1.00±0.05, P<0.05) while Bcl-2/Bax ratio rose (1.62±0.13 vs. 0.72±0.10, 1.62±0.13 vs. 0.74±0.13, P<0.01). Conclusions:Me can improve the viability and function of islets and suppress the apoptosis of Min6 cells after H/R.The mechanism is correlated with JNK and p38 MAPK signaling pathways.

ABSTRACT

Background 2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) is widely used as a broad-leaved herbicide and plant growth regulator. Related studies have shown that 2,4-D has neurotoxicity, ability to disrupt endocrine function, genotoxicity, carcinogenicity, and reproductive toxicity. Objective This experiment is conducted to investigate the effect of 2,4-D exposure on reproductive system of female rats, and to preliminarily explore the potential ameliorative effect of Lycium barbarum polysaccharide (LBP) and its possible mechanism. Methods Twenty-four SPF female SD rats with six rats in each group were randomly divided into a blank control group (deionized water 1 mL·d−1), an exposure group (75 mg·kg−1 2,4-D), an LBP control group (50 mg·kg−1 LBP), and an LBP intervention group (75 mg·kg−1 2,4-D + 50 mg·kg−1 LBP). The rats were given intragastric administration once a day for 28 consecutive days. Body weight was measured every two days. After exposure, ovary and uterus were weighed and organ coefficients were calculated; the pathological changes of ovary and uterus were detected by hematoxylin-eosin staining (HE); the level of estradiol (E2) in serum was detected by ELISA; the levels of superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), and malondialdehyde (MDA) in serum were measured by corresponding kits; the apoptosis of ovarian and uterine cells was detected by TUNEL fluorescence staining; and the protein expression levels of Fas, FasL, FADD, Pro-Caspase-8, Cleaved-Caspase-8, Pro-Caspase-3, and Cleaved-Caspase-3 in ovarian tissues were detected by Western blotting. Results Compared with the blank control group, the ovarian structure of the exposure group was abnormal, the number of follicles at different developmental stages decreased, morphological changes were observed, and the number of atretic follicles increased; the endometrium was incomplete, with different degrees of nuclear pseudostratification and decreased number of glands in lamina propria. Compared with the exposure group, the ovarian structure of the LBP intervention group was complete, and the follicles at different developmental stages increased in amount, remained intact, and were arranged closely; the uterine structure was relatively intact, showing decreased endometrial loss and nuclear pseudostratification. There were significant differences in the levels of SOD, GSH-Px, E2, and MDA among the four groups (F=86.1, 26.2, 43.3, and 22.3, all P<0.01). Compared with the blank control group, the levels of serum SOD, GSH-Px, and E2 decreased in the exposure group (P<0.01), while the concentration of MDA increased (P<0.01). Compared with the exposure group, the levels of serum SOD, GSH-Px, and E2 in the LBP intervention group increased (P<0.01), and the concentration of MDA decreased (P<0.01). There were significant differences in the apoptosis rates of ovarian and uterine cells among the four groups (F=64.8, 55.5, both P<0.01). Compared with the blank control group, the apoptosis rates of ovarian and uterine cells increased in the exposure group (P<0.01). Compared with the exposure group, the apoptosis rates of ovarian and uterine cells decreased in the LBP intervention group (P<0.01). There were significant differences in the expression levels of death receptor pathway-related proteins in ovarian tissues among the four groups (all P<0.05). Compared with the blank control group, the expression levels of Fas, FasL, FADD, Pro-Caspase-8, Cleaved-Caspase-8, Pro-caspase-3, and Cleaved-Caspase-3 were increased in the exposure group (P<0.05 or 0.01). Compared with the exposure group, the expression levels of above proteins were decreased in the LBP intervention group (P<0.05 or 0.01). Conclusion The study findings reveal that 2,4-D can induce oxidative stress and further mediate Fas-FasL pathway to induce apoptosis, resulting in reproductive system damage in female rats. LBP can reduce the oxidative stress level, down-regulate the expression of Fas-FasL pathway-related proteins, and reduce the apoptosis of germ cells, therefore protecting reproductive system of female rats.

ABSTRACT

AIM: To investigate the effects of dexmedetomidine (Dex) on renal function and serum inflammatory factors in sepsis rats. METHODS: Sixty male SD rats were divided into three groups: blank group, model group and DEX group (n=20). The blank group did not take any measures. The model group and DEX group were injected with lipopolysaccharide intravenously to construct sepsis rat model. Then the Dex group was injected with dextromethomidine injection for 7 μg•kg-1•h-1, and the dose was reduced to 5 μg•kg-1•h-1 after 15 minutes. The model group was continuously pumped for 30 minutes with equal volume of normal saline. At 12 h, 24 h and 48 h after operation, six rats in each group were taken from the abdominal vein blood. The serum creatine (Scr) and blood urea nitrogen (BUN) levels were measured by colorimetry, and the serum tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) was measured by ELISA. The levels of TNF-α, IL-6 and IL-1β were measured. The rats were killed and the right kidney was taken, the pathological changes of renal tissue were observed by HE staining. RESULTS: At 12 h, 24 h and 48 h after operation, the levels of Scr and BUN in the model group and Dex group were higher than those in the blank group (P0.05), and the levels of Scr and BUN in the model group and Dex group increased in turn (P0.05). The levels of TNF-α, IL-6 and IL-1β in the model group and DEX group increased in turn (P<0.05). At 12 h, 24 h and 48 h after operation, HE staining showed that there was no abnormal change of renal tissue in the blank group, and pathological changes were seen in the model group and DEX group, and gradually increased with the increase of time. Pathological changes in DEX group at all-time points were less than those in the model group. CONCLUSION: Dexmedetomidine can protect renal function and inhibit the expression of serum inflammatory factors in sepsis rats.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To explore biomarkers for early auxiliary diagnosis of pneumoconiosis in coal workers(CWP) and its clinical significance. METHODS: Sixty-nine male coal miners exposed to dust were selected as control group, and sixty-seven CWP male patients were chosen as CWP group by purposive sampling method. Serum samples were collected from subjects of the two groups. The levels of malonaldehyde(MDA) and superoxide dismutase(SOD) were determined by colorimetric method. The enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was used to measure the level of interleukin-6(IL-6) and tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNF-α). The acetylcholinesterase(AChE) activity was determined by modified Ellman method. The logistic regression model was used to analyze the risk factors of CWP. The receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curve was established to analyze the sensitive indicators in the pathogenesis of CWP. RESULTS: The serum SOD activity decreased(median: 65.1 vs 59.2 kU/L, P<0.05), and the MDA, IL-6 and TNF-α levels increased in the CWP group(median: 4.92 vs 6.68 μmol/L, 129.82 vs 163.18 ng/L, 63.90 vs 70.93 ng/L, P<0.05) compared with the control group. The logistic regression analysis results showed that AChE was the protective factor of CWP, while age, chronic respiratory symptoms, IL-6 and MDA were the risk factors of CWP(P<0.05). The ROC curve showed that IL-6 and MDA can be used as early indicators for the diagnosis of CWP in dust-exposed workers. CONCLUSION: The serum IL-6 and MDA levels can be used as biomarkers for early auxiliary diagnosis of CWP.

ABSTRACT

Objective This paper aimed at the management needs of the digital technique research-type laboratory of stomatology to explore a "three-stage training management" mode under the concept of "Standard Operating Procedures" (SOP) to improve the traditional training model for laboratory.Methods Experimental technology training management is an important step to insure the safely running of college research-type laboratory.Digital oral medical experimental technique is a kind of new technique developed in recent years,it is one of the important technical means of oral medical research today.In this paper,we based on the scientific research service demand of digital technique research-type laboratory in oral medical colleges explored and established a kind of three-stage training management mode under the concept of "Standard Operating Procedures".This training management mode included network self-study training,laboratory practical training and regular self-study training.Results The SOP training management model has achieved a good preliminary application effect in Peking University School and Hospital of Stomatology.Conclusions The training management model established in this study could improve the traditional training model and provide a theoretical support and experience for the domestic oral medical colleges.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the function of 5-Aza-CdR in B-cell acute lymphocytic leukemia cell line NALM-6 and its influence on the expression of microRNA (miRNA) in the cells. Methods NALM-6 was treated with different concentrations of 5-Aza-CdR. Cell proliferation was detected by methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium (MTT) test, and DNA methyltransferase (DNMT) mRNA expression level was detected by reverse transcription PCR (RT-PCR). The expression changes of miRNA were detected by miScript miRNA PCR Array chip in cells after methylation. Results NALM-6 cell growth was inhibited by different concentrations of 5-Aza-CdR processing time, reaching to the maximum inhibitory rate was (74.163 ±0.381) %. 5-Aza-CdR affected concentrations was inversely proportional with expression level of DNMT mRNA. After 1 000 μmol/L of 5-Aza-CdR was dealed with cell 72 h, the relative expression of DNMT-1 was reduced to 0.453 ±0.021, DNMT-3L was 0.003±0.001, DNMT-3B was 0.395±0.019. MiScript miRNA PCR array sieved out 3 miRNA (miR-184, miR-23a-3p, miR-34a-5p) associated with DNA methylation. Conclusions 5-Aza-CdR down regulates the expression of DNMT gene in NALM-6 cells, and inhibits the proliferation of cells. MiR-184, miR-23a-3p and miR-34a-5p are related to DNA methylation in the occurrence and development of B-cell acute lymphocytic leukemia.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To compare the accuracyof interactive closet point (ICP)algorithm,Procrustes analysis (PA)algorithm,andalandmark-independent method to construct the mid-sagittal plane (MSP)of the cone beam computed tomography.To provide theoretical basis for establishing coordinate systemof CBCT images and symmetric analysis.Methods:Ten patients were selected and scanned by CBCT before orthodontic treatment.The scan data was imported into Mimics 10.0 to reconstructthree dimensional skulls.And the MSP of each skull was generated by ICP algorithm,PA algorithm and landmark-independ-ent method.MSP extracted by ICP algorithm or PA algorithm involvedthree steps.First,the 3D skull processing was performed by reverse engineering software geomagic studio 2012 to obtain the mirror skull. Then,the original and its mirror skull was registered separately by ICP algorithm in geomagic studio 2012 and PA algorithm in NX Imageware 1 1 .0.Finally,the registered data were united into new data to calcu-late the MSP of the originaldata in geomagic studio 2012.The mid-sagittal plane was determined by SEL-LA (S),nasion (N),basion (Ba)as traditional landmark-dependent methodconducted in software InVivoDental 5.0.The distance from 9 pairs of symmetric anatomical marked points to three sagittal plane were measured and calculated to compare the differences of the absolute value.The one-way ANOVA test was used to analyze the variable differences among the 3 MSPs.The pairwise comparison was performed with LSD method.Results:MSPs calculated by the three methods were available for clinic analysis,which could be concluded from the front view.However,there was significant differences among the distances from the 9 pairs of symmetric anatomical marked points to the MSPs (F=10.932,P=0.001).LSD test showed there was no significant difference between the ICP algorithm and landmark-independent method (P=0.1 1 ),while there was significant difference between the PA algorithm and landmark-independent methods (P =0.01 ).Conclusion:Mid-sagittal plane of 3D skulls could be generated base on ICP algorithm or PA algorithm.There was no significant difference between the ICP algorithm and landmark-independent method.For the subjects with no evident asymmetry,ICP algorithm is feasible in clinical analysis.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To evaluate the actual measurement accuracy of 2 three-dimensional(3D)facial scanners for real person. Methods:3D digital face models of 1 0 volunteers with normal ficial form were obtained by 3dMD and FaceScan facial scanners respec-tively.The measurement values of 1 0 feature lengths and 5 feature angles were measured on each 3D model by the software respective-ly.The reference values of all characteristics were acquired by line laser scanner (Faro)with high accuracy.Statistical and surveying analysis were taken between the measurement values and reference values.Facial morphology measurement error and actual accuracy of facial scanners were obtained finally.Data were statistically analysed.Results:The length measurement accuracy of 3dMD and FaceS-can was(-0.37 ±0.68)mm and (-0.29 ±0.53)mm(P =0.223),the angle measurement accuracy was (-0.22 ±2.1 4)°and (0.1 2 ±2.69)°(P =0.428),respectively.Conclusion:The 3D data of ficial morphology obtained by the 2 scanners are not signifi-cantly different.

ABSTRACT

Objective To compare the effect of continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP)and bilevel positive airway pressure(BiPAP)on the cardiac structure and function of patients with obstructive sleep apnea and hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS).Methods 100 patients with OSAHS were selected as the research subjects.The patients were randomly divided into two groups by digital table method,CPAP group had 50 cases,adopted the CPAP ventilation mode,BiPAP group had 50 cases,adopted the BiPAP ventilation mode.The heart rate,blood pressure, blood brain natriuretic peptide(BNP),nitric oxide(NO),endothelin -1 protease,matrix metalloprotein 9(MMP -9), C -reactive protein (CRP) and polysomnography (PSG) related indicators,cardiac structure and function and endothelial function changes before and after treatment were observed in the two groups,compared the clinical effect of the two modes.Results Before treatment,in both groups,there were no statistical differences in blood pressure,heart rate,BNP,NO,endothelin -1,MMP -9,CRP,PSG related indicators,cardiac structure and function,endothelial function.After six months of noninvasive ventilator treatment,results of the heart rate,systolic pressure,diastolic blood pressure,blood oxygen saturation,oxygen partial pressure,the BNP,endothelin -1,NO,MMP -9,CRP,body mass index,the Epworth sleepiness scale(ESS),Apnea hypoventilation index(AHI),oxygen and lowest at night,aortic di-ameter(AO),left ventricular inner diameter (LA),right ventricular(RV)inside diameter,left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF),pulmonary artery systolic pressure(PASP)of the CPAP group were (79.83 ±11.47)times/min, (114.06 ±11.45)mmHg,(72.44 ±7.38)mmHg,(97.6 ±1.45)%,(93.17 ±1.86)mmHg,(110.78 ±38.32)ng/L, (17.58 ±2.07)ng/L,(8.55 ±0.55)μmol/L,(372.73 ±189.00)μg/L,(3.34 ±2.29)mg/L,(23.87 ±1.59), (0.98 ±0.70),(0.65 ±0.30),(94.04 ±1.62)%,(31.52 ±2.17 )mm,(31.19 ±1.09 )mm,(20.86 ± 1.69)mm,(61.13 ±5.02)%,(20.74 ±5.49)mmHg.which of the BiPAP group were (80.96 ±8.56)times/min, (114.58 ±9.34)mmHg,(71.67 ±8.57)mmHg,(96.96 ±1.43)%,(94.52 ±1.66)mmHg,(87.63 ±28.33)ng/L, (17.76 ±2.20)ng/L,(8.54 ±0.52)μmol/L,(359.63 ±268.95)μg/L,(4.96 ±2.00)mg/L,(24.15 ±1.65), (0.85 ±0.75 ),(0.58 ±0.19 ),(94.50 ±1.18)%,(31.73 ±1.57 )mm,(31.97 ±1.12)mm,(21.58 ± 2.43)mm,(62.24 ±5.79)%,(21.45 ±3.76)mmHg.In the oxygen partial pressure,the BNP,MMP -9,CRP,ESS score,AHI,LA,LVEF and other indicators,BiPAP mode were better than CPAP mode(t =2.13,4.32,2.13,4.32, 1.39,4.93,2.58,4.36,all P <0.05 ).Conclusion BiPAP mode and CPAP mode can improve cardiovascular function in patients with OSAHS,improve the symptoms of low ventilation,reduce obesity,but in terms of reducing cardiac load,improve blood vessel function,BiPAP mode is better than CPAP.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the projects funded by ministry of national science and technology (NSTP) in China allocated to oral medicine from 2003 to 2013.Methods The data regarding the NSTP allocated to oral medicine research from 2003 to 2013 were collected,including funding years,the expenses and numbers of programs,the secondary discipline of oral medicine and the program units,etc.Multidimensional analyses were provided subsequently.Results From 2003 to 2013,a total number of 59 projects and 210 million CNY supported by NSTP were allocated to oral medicineresearch.The development trend showed increased year by year.The oral medicine researches were allocated by almost all major types of NSTP and the funding directions were tending to diversified development.But,the projects units were relatively concentrated in clinical,teaching and research institutions,only few enterprises.Conclusions Over the past 10 years,the sustainable improvement of NSTP in oral medicine research has led to the development of oral medicine discipline.NSTP has becoming an important way for oral medicine research to obtain State-level funding.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To identify novel common mutations among patients with non-syndromic hearing loss (NSHL).</p><p><b>METHODS</b>High-throughput gene capture technology was used to analyze 18 patients with NSHL in whom common mutations of deafness genes including GJB2, SLC26A4, GJB3, and mtDNA were excluded. Suspected mutation was verified with Sanger sequencing.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>Next generation sequencing has identified 62 mutations in 29 genes associated with hearing loss, which included 54 missense mutations, 4 splicing mutations, 3 deletional mutations, and 1 nonsense mutation. Mutations occurring more than twice in the 18 patients were verified by Sanger sequencing. This has confirmed 15 mutations in 8 genes, including 3 missense mutations (p.C2184G, p.L2825P, p.H1888Y) which have not been reported previously. Meanwhile, p.L445W, p.D866N, and IVS919-2A>G were common causative mutations.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>A number of common causative mutations, e.g., p.L445W, p.D866N, IVS919-2A>G, have been identified by high-throughput capture technology, which may facilitate the research and genetic diagnosis for hearing loss.</p>

ABSTRACT

Objective:To compare two digital methods of quantitatively accessing the degree of facial asymmetry by three-dimensional data.Methods: The three-dimensional data of 20 subjects were got by the FaceScan, and then were input to the reverse engineering software Imageware 13.0 and Geomagic 12 .Their mirror data were acquired and superimposed with the original data by the methods of interactive closest points ( ICP) and Procrustes analysis ( PA) .The mid-sagittal planes of the two methods were ex-tracted respectively, the degree of facial asymmetry and the distance of 21 automatic landmarks to mid-sagittal plane were calculated and compared.Results:The paired t test was taken and t=1.346, P=0.193.Conclusion:We can safely come to the conclusions that for the subjects with no evident facial asymmetry, there are no significant difference between the PA and the ICP methods for extracting the mid-sagittal plane from three-dimensional data.

Objective To investigate risk factors of Alzheimer's patients with aspiration pneumonia and inter-vention,to provide a reference for clinical treatment.Methods From January 2013 to June 2014,322 patients with Alzheimer's disease were selected,the incidence of aspiration pneumonia was analyzed,and the age,gender,depression Tian water test grading,underlying diseases,aspiration and other potential factors were analyzed to get risk factors of aspiration pneumonia,and summarized countermeasures.Results Multivariate analysis showed that underlying disea-ses (95%CI =1.694 -5.319,P =0.011),invasive procedures(95%CI =1.884 -6.362,P =0.001),depression Tian water test grade(95%CI =2.184 -9.636,P =0.000),malnutrition(95%CI =2.501 -11.114,P =0.000), Glasgow Coma Scale(95%CI =1.271 -3.569,P =0.011),were risk factors for Alzheimer patients with aspiration pneumonia(P <0.05).Conclusion Alzheimer's patients with inhalation pneumonia have multiple risk factors,more expectoration should be done for caring,e.g.oral care,in order to reduce the probability of pneumonia.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To explore the common causative genes and mutation sites for hereditary non-syndromic deafness in Shanxi.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Peripheral blood samples were collected from regional schools for children with deafness. The samples were analyzed by matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization of flight mass spectrometry, and the results were verified by DNA sequencing.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>For all samples, the 20 mutational sites of the 4 common causative genes were tested. As revealed, c.235delC of GJB2 gene has the highest mutational rate (13.67%). c.IVS7-2A>G of SLC26A (PDS) gene has a mutation rate of 17.67%, and c.1555A>G of mitochondrial 12S rRNA has a mutation rate of 2.00%. No mutations have been found with GJB3 gene. Sequencing analysis has suggested that the above results have a consistency rate of 99%.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>Analysis of mutations of the 4 common deafness-related genes can facilitate early diagnosis and treatment for the disease. Matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time of flight mass spectrometry is a reliable method for such a task.</p>

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the spontaneous neoplastic lesions and their incidences in rats .Methods Sixty male and 60 female specific pathogen-free Wistar rats (4-weeks old ) were used in this study .The rats were acclima-ted for 1 week prior to initiation of the experiment .They were fed with conventional feed for 104 weeks and then sacrificed for histopathological examination .Results Various neoplastic lesions of the rats and their incidences were analyzed and reported.For male rats, their total tumor incidence was 49.12%, the benign tumor incidence was 38.60%and the malig-nant tumor incidence was 17.54%.The benign neoplastic lesions mainly were pituitary adenoma ( 19.30%) , testis Leydig cell tumor (5.26%) and subcutaneous fibroma (5.26%).The malignant neoplastic lesions mainly were squamous cell carcinoma (7.02%) and lymphoid hematopoietic system tumors (3.51%).For female rats, their total tumor inci-dence was 60.34%, the benign tumor incidence was 50.00%and the malignant tumor incidence was 15.52%.The benign neoplastic lesions mainly were breast fibroadenoma (25.86%) and pituitary adenoma (24.14%).The malignant neoplas-tic lesions mainly were adenocarcinoma (5.17%) and breast cancer (3.45%).Conclusions The spontaneous neoplastic lesions and their incidences reported in this paper provide another data of the spontaneous tumors of SPF Wistar rats and may provide some reference for relevant technical staffs .

ABSTRACT

Objective: To report a newly designed method for treating supracondylar fracture of the humerus,and to inquire into the problems of cubitus varus deformity and joint stiff.Methods:Based on a review of anatomy,a new method which called tension band with sphenoid-shaped osteotomy through posterior approach was designed and applied for 46 cases of patients in clinic.The clinical effect was compared with effect of crossing Kirchner's wire.Results:The tension band with sphenoid-shaped osteotomy was a better method and can abide by anatomical and biomechanical principles.After follow-up for 12-36 months,curative effect was estimated as follow:30 cases were excellent,14 cases good and 2 cases poor according to Home's evaluation.Conclusions:It is a better methods in treating supracondylar fracture of the humerus following advantages including simple,reliable fixation and early mobilization etc.

ABSTRACT

Objective To retrospect and probe the clinical applied value and the results of iliac bone with the deep circumflex iliac vessel transplantation for the treatment of avascular necrosis of femoral head.Methods With a composite procedure including synovectomy,fenestration,curettage and vascularized iliac bone graft with pedicle of the ipsilateral deep circumflex iliac vessels.Results Follow-up period average 2 years 8 months(range:for 6 month-5 years) and all patients were roentgenographied.According to new grading treatment system four items and six grades for avascular necrosis of femoral head was evaluated.Excellent and good rate was 84 4%.Post-operative radiological assessment demonstrated that there was no incidence of deterioration or further collapse of the femoral head and certain extent of re-sphering and re-surfacing of the head was observed in all of the collapsed heads.Conclusions The results of this study suggest that the technique is suitable for the treatment of avascular necrosis of femoral head of the stage Ⅰ Ⅱ Ⅲ and younger patients of late stage.

ABSTRACT

Spreaded and immobilized the bacterial cells entraped in PVA on pieces of cotton cloth as porous carrier. The conditions for preparing immobilized cells were as below: cell concentration, 20 mg wet weight/ml; PVA concentration, 5%; spreading amount, 0.3ml/cm~2; immobilization for 12 hours in saturated boron acid solution. Then activated the immobilized cells in buffer containing dyes. Thus, immobilized cells with high decolorizing activity were obtained.In columns packed with immobilized cells, the decolorization efficiencies of continuous influent and intermissional influent were compared with each other. In twenty days, the decolorization rates were both higher than 90%; then the decolorization rate of continuous influent decreased to about 60% after 60 days while it still reached 80% in case of intermissional influent. The efficiency of the later was distinct higher than that of the former.
